For HIR panel or bracket mounting, start with the drawing for the exact setting type and body group. Check the panel hole and thickness separately from the bracket mounting-hole spacing. Then identify whether the quotation includes a regulator bracket or hardware for a modular assembly. The catalogue gives useful comparison dimensions, but fabrication also needs a current supplier-confirmed drawing, accessories and installation instructions.
Choose the drawing before choosing the mounting hardware
The HIR catalogue has separate drawings for the standard handle-adjusted groups and the air-operated HIR3120 and HIR4120 configurations. [1] A quotation described only as “HIR3000 size” leaves the drawing selection incomplete. Record the complete proposed supply code, setting type, port and accessory selection on the drawing request. Where the catalogue uses an unfilled square in a model label, retain that unresolved choice instead of turning the figure label into an order code. The existing control-selection guide covers the difference between manual and air-operated setting; this checklist begins with the mechanical drawing review.
Read panel dimensions independently of bracket dimensions
Printed page 78 shows panel-mounting sketches for the three standard handle-adjusted groups. Each sketch labels a panel-hole diameter and maximum panel thickness; the nearby bracket views show a different mounting-hole spacing. [1] Keep these measurements in separate fields. The following transcription is for comparison against the original figure, not a complete drilling template. It omits other dimensions, tolerances, mounting loads and assembly instructions, all of which must be resolved on the selected drawing before fabrication.
| Standard drawing group | Panel-hole diameter | Maximum panel thickness shown | Bracket hole-centre spacing shown |
|---|---|---|---|
| HIR20 group, main-port field 01 | 10.5 | 4 | 28 |
| HIR30 group, main-port field 02 | 12.5 | 4 | 36 |
| HIR40 group, main-port field to select | 12.5 | 4 | 60 |
Distinguish the regulator bracket from modular assembly hardware
Printed page 77 lists B2-IR, B3-IR and B4-IR in the regulator specification table. A separate modular-combination table uses B210L/B310L/B410L for L brackets and B210T/B310T/B410T for T brackets. [1] Those are different catalogue references with different contexts. Ask the supplier to itemize which bracket, connection parts and gauges belong to the offered assembly. The modular table names AF and AFM components; it does not establish that an HDA or similarly named component can be connected with the same hardware.
| HIR body group | Regulator-table bracket | Modular-table L bracket | Modular-table T bracket |
|---|---|---|---|
| HIR20 group | B2-IR | B210L | B210T |
| HIR30 group; HIR3120 also listed | B3-IR | B310L | B310T |
| HIR40 group; HIR4120 also listed | B4-IR | B410L | B410T |
Do not extend a manual panel sketch to an air-operated version
The HIR3120 and HIR4120 drawings have an upper control connection where the standard configurations show the hand-setting arrangement. Their drawings are presented separately on page 78; that page does not provide the same panel-mounting sketch for them. [1] A shared body group or bracket reference is therefore insufficient evidence for copying the manual panel arrangement. Request the chosen air-operated unit’s mounting drawing and control-connection identification. The catalogue’s setting-type note and model rows also contain an inconsistency, discussed in the control-selection guide; obtain the current supply code before approving the drawing.
Reserve the space the bare drawing does not settle
A component outline is only one part of an installed assembly. Put the selected gauge, adjustment access, fittings, tubing path and access for the agreed service task on the proposed layout. Ask the responsible designer and supplier to confirm their required space; this article provides no universal clearance distance. The catalogue distinguishes a pilot vent from the main vent, but those labels do not specify a permitted exhaust route, back pressure or connection method. Keep the selected model’s venting and installation instructions as an open document requirement instead of treating a port label as permission to connect piping.
Attach a drawing-review sheet to the quotation
Give purchasing and the mechanical designer one revision-controlled sheet. It should show what has been checked, which source supports it and who must close the remaining items. Do not replace an unresolved field with a guessed value simply to release the order. A bracket photograph is not a confirmed bill of materials, and receiving a dimension drawing is not evidence that the pneumatic duty has been approved.
| Review item | Evidence to attach | Close the item when |
|---|---|---|
| Exact configuration | Complete supply code, current drawing number and revision | The supplier confirms that all three describe the same offered unit. |
| Panel or bracket arrangement | Selected mounting view, material/thickness and relevant hole dimensions | The mechanical designer checks the actual mounting surface against the confirmed drawing. |
| Supplied accessories | Itemized bracket, gauge and connection-parts list | The quotation identifies included items and separately ordered items. |
| Installed space | Layout with fittings, tubing, gauge view and adjustment/service access | The responsible designer accepts the layout using the supplier’s applicable requirements. |
| Unresolved installation details | Model-specific instructions and an open-issue list | The supplier resolves venting, permitted mounting and fastening requirements before installation release. |
Catalogue basis and limits of this checklist
All HIR dimensions and accessory references above are transcribed from the customer catalogue dated 21 June 2025, printed pages 76–78. [1] The original catalogue and its published HIR extract were visually checked for this article. These are catalogue references rather than a model-specific installation manual. Confirm the current drawing and supplied configuration with XMC. No mounting torque, exhaust arrangement, clearance allowance, interchangeability or application certification is established here.
Questions buyers ask.
Can HIR30 and HIR40 use the same mounting plate because both show a 12.5 mm panel hole?
That one matching dimension does not establish fit. Their standard bracket views show different hole-centre spacings, and the selected configuration, other dimensions and mounting requirements still need checking.
Does the standard drawing allow a panel thicker than 4 mm?
The cited standard panel sketches label 4 mm as the maximum thickness. A thicker panel falls outside that shown detail; request an approved alternative for the exact configuration instead of assuming the mounting still works.
Is B3-IR the same bracket as B310L?
They are different references in different tables: B3-IR is in the regulator specification table, while B310L is the L-bracket reference in the modular-combination table. Confirm the required assembly and supplied hardware with XMC.
Is a bracket or pressure gauge automatically included because it appears in the drawing?
No. The catalogue labels optional items and has separate accessory selections. Use the quotation’s complete supply code and itemized accessory list to confirm what will be delivered.
Can I use this article to drill the plate or route the HIR exhaust?
Use a supplier-confirmed drawing and the applicable installation instructions. The selected comparison dimensions are not a full fabrication drawing, and the catalogue vent labels do not establish permitted exhaust piping or back pressure.
